Terms of use (draft)
Draft, not in force
This text is a working draft that a Spanish lawyer has not reviewed. Square brackets are still to be filled in. It is in English only.
Who we are
The service is run by [legal entity, to be filled in], [address], [email].
What we do, and what we do not do
We provide the platform and a message relay. We are not a guide, a tour operator, a travel agent, an employer or an insurer, and we are not a party to any agreement between a hiker and a guide. We take no bookings or payments. We do not check, approve, recommend or guarantee any guide, listing, qualification, licence, insurance or message.
Hikers
You choose whether to contact a guide and whether to go. Check qualifications, licence, insurance, terms and price yourself, and agree everything directly with the guide. Hiking carries risk, including injury and death. Our route information is general and can be wrong or out of date. Use the official bulletins and call 112 in an emergency.
Guides
You list yourself as an independent professional or a private person and say which. You are responsible for lawful practice, accreditation, professional liability cover, tax and your contracts. You declare you are 18 or over and that what you publish is true. No promises of safety, no false official status, no links or contact details in the free text.
Reviews
Signed in members can write one review per guide and per route, rated 1 to 5 with 20 to 500 characters. Reviews are not verified as coming from a client. We remove a review only if it breaks the rules, with a written reason.
Advertising and affiliate links
We show advertisements and affiliate links, from affiliate programmes of third-party platforms and from our own network of sites and services. They can appear on route pages, area pages, search results, emails, the member dashboard, the guide dashboard and our own marketing. Every ad and partner link is labelled. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Ads never change how listings, routes or reviews are ordered and never hide safety information.
Marketing messages and your data
We send marketing email only with your separate consent, which you can withdraw in one click. We do not pass your data to our other services, advertisers or affiliate partners without separate consent. Advertising cookies are used only if you accept them.
Privacy
Today this site has no accounts and no forms. It stores your theme, language and notice choice in your browser. The Near me button uses your position only in your browser and sends it nowhere. Fonts, map tiles and photos load from third parties (Google Fonts, OpenFreeMap, IGN, Wikimedia), which receive your IP address as any web request does.
Liability and law
We are responsible for our own service as the law requires. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for what a guide or a hiker does or fails to do. [Governing law and court: to be set by the lawyer.]
