Easy hikes in Spain for beginners

Updated October 30, 2026 · 12 routes

An easy walk is short, has little climb and stays close to roads or villages. The routes below are all under 10 km with under 300 m of climb, and none of them reach high mountains.

Easy is our own estimate from distance, climb and terrain tags in OpenStreetMap. It is not an official grade, so check each route page for steep ground, crossings and heat.

Routes to try

Picked from our route data. Grades and times are our own estimates, not official.

Before you go

  • Wear comfortable shoes with grip.
  • Take water and a snack, even for a short walk.
  • Start early in summer. The sun is strong from late spring.
  • Check the official AEMET warnings on the morning of the walk.

Gear we recommend

You do not need much for an easy walk, but these basics keep it comfortable.
